Ability to Clear Memory of the AI Assistant
The AI Assistant retains messages for context, but outdated memories can be cleared to ensure accurate, up-to-date data.
How to Clear the Memory of the AI Assistant
1. Navigate to the Assistant's Profile Page
- Go to the main dashboard and find the assistant you want to edit or reset.
- The assistant profile page provides options for managing the assistant.
2. Select "Clear Memory"
On the assistant profile page, click the "Clear Memory" button.
3. Choose the Assistant
A pop-up window will appear with options to select the assistant whose memory you wish to clear. Choose the appropriate assistant from the "Select Assistant" dropdown.
4. Select the Users
The admin can choose to clear the memory for either:
- All Users: This will wipe the memory of the assistant for all users who have interacted with it.
5. Confirm the Action
Once the assistant and user(s) are selected, click the "Save" button to confirm and clear the memory. A confirmation message will indicate that the action has been completed.
Why You Might Need to Clear Memory
- Outdated Information: If an assistant is updated with new information or settings, previous memories may no longer be accurate.
- Reconfiguring the Assistant: When setting up a new assistant or changing configurations, clearing memory ensures the assistant starts fresh with the updated settings.
- User-Specific Updates: If there's a need to clear data for a specific user (e.g., user preferences or past interactions), the admin can choose to clear just that user's memory.
Important Notes
⚠️ Warning: Clearing the memory will remove all previous conversations and information retained by the assistant for the selected users.
Admin Access: Only admins have the privilege to clear memory for assistants.
Irreversible Action: This action is irreversible. Once memory is cleared, it cannot be recovered.
